for clinicians & students
For clinicians who want to think deeply.
Most clinicians leave training knowing what to do. Fewer have learned how to think. CIPSE is a clinical practice and a teaching institute under one roof, where clinicians at every stage learn to listen beneath the symptom and use the relationship as the instrument of change. We are a young institute, founded in 2025: supervision and paid positions are open now, and the seminars, the Fellowship and internships are planned for 2027–2029.

Joining CIPSE · paid positions
A community, not a caseload.
Clinical work can be lonely, and supervision is often bought by the hour. Here you would think alongside senior analysts every month, see patients who come looking for depth, and build a practice inside a tradition that takes the inner life seriously. Part time or full time, on Hilliard Street, online, or both. Clinicians across disciplines and orientations are welcome to apply.

one to one
Individual supervision
Pre-licensed clinicians receive one-on-one supervision in the amount their licensing board requires. Any CIPSE clinician may also meet individually with a core clinician at a reduced fee.
in a small group
Group supervision
A group that meets monthly on weekends to think together about cases, co-led by CIPSE’s core clinicians.
when a case is stuck
Case consultation
Woven into group supervision: a place to bring work that feels stuck, charged or hard to see clearly from within the dyad.
The centerpiece · opens 2027
Fellowship in Psychodynamic Practice.
A two-semester fellowship for licensed clinicians who want a sustained place to deepen their work in psychodynamic and psychoanalytic thinking. It meets in person on Hilliard Street, with the option of continuing into a second year if the group wishes. A virtual cohort may be considered if applications reflect the need.

Rigorous, and deeply human.
Dr. Porat has taught at MIP since 2020. Her teaching grows out of Winnicott, the American relational tradition and the work of her mentor, Malcolm Owen Slavin. Our training is pluralistic by design: we ask clinicians to become curious about theory, about their patients, and about what their own reactions are telling them.

A weekend morning on Hilliard Street
A small table. A paper read in advance and argued over anyway. Someone brings a treatment that has gone quiet in a way they cannot explain, and for an hour the group thinks alongside them, not to correct, but to hear what has not yet been said.
no one leaves with a technique. people leave with a better ear.

Teach with CIPSE.
If you carry something of the psychoanalytic tradition, we would be honored to give it a room: a weekend seminar, a slow reading group, or a one-day workshop.
