Cambridge Institute for Psychological Services and Education
CIPSE is a Cambridge-based psychotherapy practice and education institute offering psychodynamic, psychoanalytic, and trauma-focused care to adults and couples — alongside supervision and training for clinicians.
Dr. Keren Porat, Psy.D
Welcome.
CIPSE is, more than anything, the kind of home I felt I needed to create. We are living in a time when it has become harder and harder to feel a real sense of belonging — to find a relational space that doesn't only hold us when we are similar to one another, but one that can sustain and survive our differences. A space where my own otherness, and yours, can sit alongside each other in the same room — respectfully, in the inevitable dialectical tension between what makes us distinct and what draws us toward each other anyway. That kind of home is not a given. It has to be made, slowly, by people willing to stay in the room with one another even when it is uncomfortable to do so. This institute is my attempt to make one.

DEEP THERAPY
belongs to everyone
We believe that meaningful, depth-oriented psychoanalytic care should not be reserved for those who can comfortably afford it. The same patience, attention, and clinical depth we bring to every client should be available across the community we serve. That is why CIPSE reserves at least 25% of our clinical hours for clients with HMO plans, state insurance (MassHealth and similar), or limited financial means — at significantly reduced, sliding-scale fees tailored to what is truly affordable. This is not charity. It is our conviction that healthy communities are built on access to mental health care — for every person, every family, every life that asks to be tended to with care.
