What brings people here

Retirement

when the work that held a life together ends

What people sometimes say

  • “I don’t know who I am without my job.”
  • “I waited years for this, and now I dread the mornings.”
  • “My partner and I are suddenly home together all day.”

Retirement is often imagined as a reward and lived as a loss. The structure, the role, the colleagues and the sense of being needed can disappear at once, and couples suddenly share days they once spent apart. It can also be a beginning: a chance to ask, perhaps for the first time in decades, what you want your time to be for.

We meet in person on Hilliard Street, near Harvard Square, or by video. The first half hour is a free conversation, with no obligation.
